Bestwood Colliery Village. This shows Park Road looking east from Church Road. Midway between the porch and the eaves of every house is an embellished stone bearing the initials 'BCIC 1876'. It stands for 'Bestwood Coal and Iron Company'. The colliery closed in the late 1960's and was acquired by the City Industrial Museum.
