Captain Rev'd Corner signed up as a conscientious objector on the outbreak of war but soon changed his mind thinking he could be of better service on the front line so volunteered . He saw action under General Slim and played a very active part, including direct combat, until VJ Day. On returning to UK, in order to make a small protest, he decided to not collect his medals. but later in life was proud to wear them at a Remembrance Day before his death in 2004, and his son continues to do so proudly. 1939-1945 Star Burma Star War medal 1939-1945
