Elston
England
Elston Towers was built in 1875 by Robert Middleton. The style is underlying Tudor Gothic, although apparently incorporating features from any building that caught his fancy. Pevsner considers it 'an excruciating design'. The main rooms of the house were at first floor level (with a Baptist chapel in the centre).
