Winthorpe Bridge carries the A1 over the river Trent at Winthorpe Rack. The bridge was built between 1962 and 1964 to carry the A1 Newark bypass over the river Trent. It was designed by Mr A Goldstein, an engineer with R Travers Morgan and Partners. In June 1998, Winthorpe Bridge became one of ten postwar bridges to be listed by English Heritage as being of special architectural interest. It is listed Grade II. The bridge is made of stressed concrete. The photograph is taken looking downstream.
