The gabled, arcaded building on the right still exists today, at junction with Villa Street, but the cinema building just beyond this has been demolished. (It was replaced by the Fine Fare Supermarket, which in turn was replaced by W H Smith's). On the left is the junction with Acacia Walk and beyond this is the E W Woolworth and Co Store. The large mill/factory building has been demolished, as have the buildings in the distance, replaced by the shopping precinct and Square. The road has now been pedestrianised.
