The fields at the end of the road once belonged to the parkland of Stapleford Hall. The picture is looking across the Erewash valley to St Giles Church, Sandiacre. The buildings immediately below the church are Church Farm (the large barn seen here was removed in sections and taken to Elvaston Castle museum in the 1970's)
