The remains of Greasley Castle, which are now incorporated into farm buildings, and are located a little to the SW of the village. The 'castle' was built in the 14th century when the Cantelupe family, who lived near the church, obtained permission from Edward III to fortify their manor house. This became known as Greasley Castle Farm.
