Notes on the back of the photograph state: This is part of a very ancient building which has been altered to suit modern requirements. It is marked as an antiquity on the ordnance survey map<br />John T. Radford, curator, 1900. <br />Originally part of a Grange farm known as Repingdon Grange but locally known as the Hobgoblins, the house was built c1600 is now two cottages.  It is listed on the national monuments record with English Heritage.
