Market Place, Looking towards King St

Market Place
Southwell
England

The picture also shows, on the left, the historic 16th century Saracen's Head Coaching Inn, and it's carriage-arch leading into the yard of the Inn. In 1646, during the Civil War, King Charles the 1st surrendered here (to the Scots, camped at nearby Kelham, rather than the English Parliamentary forces, because he thought he might get better treatment from them!)
