Trent Navigation Warehouse, on the right of this photograph, was formerly an oil mill owned by Walker and Smith and built by James Clark in 1870 for the extraction of linseed oil and the production of cattle cake. On the left of the photograph is the Trent Navigation Company dry dock before it was rebuilt in 1980. The mechanised Town Lock built in 1952 can be seen in the distance. The photograph, therefore dates between 1952 and 1980.
