Quibell's glue and bone factory was built by the Quibell brothers in 1883. The bones from which the glue and bone meal was made were off-loaded at the wharf shown in this picture. A railway branch line also served the factory. The company was taken over by British Glues and Chemicals in 1920. The company was taken over by Croid Glues in 1955. In the left of the photograph is the LNS railway bridge which was replaced in the 2000. The weir shown in the photograph forms part of the Nether Lock complex.
