On 19th March, 2002, a lorry carrying ready curved rails waits on the brow of Wilkinson Street railway bridge, before delivery. The road here was very wide enavling the tram tracks conveniently to be laid where the lorry stands. Indicative of the times is the fact that rails were delivered by road, not by rail.
