Different colours were used to denote the position of utilities to be moved, but unfortunately, on Chilwell Road, shown here, old plans weren't always accurate and some utilities weren't shown. This led to many problems and delays. One advantage brought by the trams is that the linear parking, turning long stretches of Chilwell Road into a one way system, ceased.
