The Albert Ball memorial Homes are eight dwellings for the elderly commissioned by Albert Ball, father of the First World War flying ace Captain Albert Ball who was killed in action in 1917. The windows on the row are suggestive of a propellor with the porch, a cockpit. They were opened in September 1922
