Known formerly as 'Maltkiln House' and 'Wyke Lodge', The White House was owned by the Honourable Cunliffe Lister. It was later taken by Lord Masham, who married Elsie, the daughter of Ripon Brokhurst, a prominent local farmer. The Masham's were a successful brewing family from Yorkshire. Later occupants were Col. and Mrs Marsh (nee Brockton). (Information kindly supplied by Farndon Local History Society)
