Far left is the house named 'Glentworth', a former sweet shop. On the right, the white building is the Rose and Crown public house (formerly owned by Hole's brewery in Newark), whilst next to it (with the telephone box) is the village post office and general store. The three gentlemen sitting on the wall outside Glentworth are Farndon's own answer to the Last of the Summer Wine. They could often be found sat on the wall or on the bench on the old village green. They are, nearest the camera, Mr Bill Dowman, Mr Mick Gray (originally from East Stoke) and Mr Sid Dunn (my Grandfather).
