The remains of the House of Correction taken from Lower Kirklington Street. The first House of Correction was built in 1611 and rebuilt twice, near to the original site beside Burgage Green. The photograph shows the remains of the 1807 building and boundary wall. The site was later used as the business premises of Carey and Sons, lace manufacturers.
