The arrival of King George V on a visit to Newark. He visited Newark on 9 July 1928. Arriving at Northgate Station, he was met by the Mayor, C H Dale, and Major Hugh Tallents D S O, Town Clerk. The Newark Advertiser reported 'splendid evidence on every hand that the inhabitants of Newark were animated by a spirit of loyalty and affection for their Sovereign.' (Antoine)
