Newark's Palace Theatre was developed on the Chauntry House site by Mrs Emily Blagg and opened on 5th July 1920. The opening programme featured the silent movie classic 'King Solomon's Mines' accompanied by full orchestra. Pictured here in 1924, posters advertise Buster Keaton's film 'The Navigator'.
