Writing of the church at Rolleston, Pevsner noted that the principal architectural interest lies in its two arcades. Of the north arcade (seen here) he notes that the two plain quatrefoil piers (one of which may be seen nearest the camera) and the single octagonal pier (centre) with concave sides and shafts placed into four of the concavities. In the foreground (left) may be seen the remains of a Saxon Cross. Pevsner notes that the surviving shaft of the cross displays a carving of an interlaced patter with crossed lines. It is signed Radulfus me fe(cit)'.
