Ossington Parish Church of the Holy Rood - interior

Ossington Church
Ossington
England

The Parish Church of the Holy Rood Ossington was originally built in the 12th Century and rebuilt between 1782 and 1783 to a design by John Carr of York (who also had an input in the alterations at nearby Ossington Hall) It has a tower and five bells. The main body of the church has round arched mullion windows. It has several monuments, particularly two belonging to the Cartwright and Peckham families, and elizabethan and medieval brass monuments retained from the former church. Shown here is the Italian altar painting flanked by tuscan columns.
