Quaker Lane
Farnsfield
England
This picture was taken from a glass plate found in Ivy Cottage on Quaker Lane (along with others). The woman on the left is wearing typical early 1920's fashions with bobbed hair. The fashion developed after World War 1, when women had become more liberated from the constricting, corseted styles of the earlier Edwardian period; clothes became more loose, flat busts were fashionable, and they cut their hair (which had always previously been worn long and pinned up.)
