The marriage of Mr William Wood to Miss Elizabeth Stanley. The best man was William's brother Arthur and the adult bridesmaid Mary Ellen (Polly) Stanley who were themselves married a couple of years later. The small bridesmaid on the left is Miss Edith Isabelle Stanley, who lived all her life at the family home which still stands at the bottom of Brickyard Lane and corner of Southwell Road. She was one of the village postwomen for many years, even delivering cards on foot to as far out of the village as Combs Farm on Christmas Day, and finishing her working days at Southwell Co-operative. The little girl in the front on the right is not known.
