The picture was taken in Bill Ming's studio on Millgate. The studio was part of the refurbished oil mill complex which also housed the Millgate Folk Museum. The building was leased to Newark District Council. Other studios in the complex included Richard Perry, artist, Karen Chesney, potter, Gillian Wilson, paper-maker. This was part of the original concept for the Millgate Revival. However the changing economic situation meant that 'artisan' accommodation ceased to be considered viable. The studios are currently used as offices.
