West gable of the south lodge . The lower one bears the date elaborately embossed and shield. Incorporated with the figures 1867, at the top of 697, are the letters BS. Whilst the upper plaque looks like an owl, it could also be a front view of the type of bird seen above the main gates (see photo no. 6). The elaborate cementation of the Vough-Hewn stone of which the lodge is constructed, can also be clearly seen with the false window-linked at the base
